Who we are
Briefer is built by Plutia Lab. This page is the early-access landing for the Briefer product. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@briefer.bio.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to evaluate the landing page during the Briefer beta. There are two collection paths:
- Anonymous usage analytics — only after you accept the consent banner. We log page views, button clicks, scroll depth, demo slide views, and hover dwell on key elements. We also record the inbound UTM parameters (e.g.
utm_source) and a randomly generated session id stored in your browser's session storage. Your IP address and user-agent string are recorded with each event so we can debug abuse and approximate geography. We do not attempt to link this data to your real identity. - Early-access signups — when you submit the form at
/early-access. We store your email, the device you intend to use Briefer on, an optional source label, and an optional one-line bio prompt. These are necessary to invite you to the beta and tailor the rollout.
Where the data lives
All data is written to a SQLite database file on a server we operate. We do not use third-party analytics SaaS (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no PostHog cloud). We do not sell or share personal data with third parties. The only outbound data transmission tied to your visit is an optional Meta Pixel beacon used for ad attribution; this fires only after you accept analytics consent.
How long we keep it
Analytics events are retained for 90 days, then deleted. Early-access signup records are kept until 30 days after the Briefer product launches publicly, after which inactive emails are deleted. You can request deletion sooner by emailing us.
Your rights
Regardless of your location, you can:
- Withdraw analytics consent at any time via the “Privacy choices” link in the footer. The consent banner will re-appear and your choice is stored locally.
- Request a copy of any data we have about you, including your signup record, by emailing hello@briefer.bio.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. an EU member-state DPA, the UK ICO, or the Korea Personal Information Protection Commission).
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Analytics: your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
- Early-access signups: performance of pre-contract steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in evaluating product-market fit (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Meta Pixel: your explicit consent.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The “Reject” button on the consent banner is the equivalent of a “Do Not Sell or Share” signal. You can email us to exercise your right to know, delete, or correct your data.
Korea (PIPA)
Personal data is collected and processed only with your prior consent for the purposes described above. You may withdraw consent at any time through the consent banner or by contacting us. Retention periods follow Korean PIPA Article 21 — once the purpose is fulfilled, data is destroyed.
Children
Briefer is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, please email us so we can delete it.
Changes
If we materially change what we collect, we will bump the consent version and re-prompt for consent. Minor wording updates will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
